A budget business laptop with Smart features & only a few drawbacks

Business laptops can break your bank sometimes with their extra functionality features to maintain digital business endeavours. But, if you are on the hunt of budget business laptops with adequate features, the Lenovo V330 is the one to look for. While it has some useful features for business users, it also has minor fallbacks that you may not like.

The Lenovo V330 primarily features a core i7 processor, which is one of the latest Intel processors. This processor is a good inclusion in this laptop despite the less budget Lenovo has kept in this laptop. So, having to do a lot of business or office tasks won’t cause any major trouble. The graphics, on the other hand, are on-board graphics which showcase decent results on the screen. However, the screen feels a little washed out and you can expect a blotchy performance.

If you are saving on the budget to buy your next business laptop, you might have to read further for our Lenovo v330-15ikb review.

Build & Design

Unlike most business laptops, the Lenovo V330 is not as heavy as one could expect. The thickness comes right at 0.55 inches, so handling this laptop while you are travelling isn’t as difficult. If we talk about the chassis, the weight of it is around 3.78 pounds. Of course, you can easily commute while packing your Lenovo V330 in the office or travel bag. Business enthusiasts can take this bag along them for their business meetings or if they need to travel worldwide.

The body is majorly made with plastic, which includes the bottom and the inside of the lid around the bezel. While the top of the lid and space around the keyboard, there is a metallic finish on the surface. The plastic isn’t bad at all, and the hinges feel rigid and sturdy. You can open the laptop with one hand as well, but it's not as easy as some of the laptops make it seem.

Ports

Not all laptops take care of their ports, while some of the laptops may also sideline ports as a minority. Lenovo, here, has used the port bar quite wisely while distributing all the ports in a good space. You will get to observe all the necessary ports including HDMI, VGA, Type A and Type B ports. If you are wondering about the USB C port, it is also there on the left side along with the RJ-45 connector and the power jack.

The right side of the laptop also has a micro SD card, a Kensington lock slot, an optical drive along with the usual USB ports. But the pleasantly surprising insertion is the 4-in-1 card reader that Lenovo has adjusted in its Lenovo port selection.

Screen

The display of the Lenovo V330 includes a 15.6-inch screen that features full HD 1080p pixel panel. Although the specs of the display seem perfect, there still isn’t the satisfactory element in the practical results. The screen in real was a bit dull than we imagined, with just 62% sRGB colour gamut coverage. From the videos or movies, you could play on the screen, the colours looked a tad bit drained out, however, the brightness was fine. With maximum brightness, the things become decent and acceptable.

For business users, there should not be much of a problem when you are working with this screen except if you are a bigger multimedia user. The graphics designer and people who are related to the editing field might not opt for this laptop unless they upgrade the GPU card. The maximum brightness although, make the display sharp and bright but it opposes the backlight, so colours may be washed out.

Performance

The Core i7 processor power-packed in the Lenovo V330 is able to provide its basic to medium-high intensity users, a reliable execution. The processor is packed with a sufficient RAM of 8GB and solid-state drive storage of 256GB. This laptop does not lag at all while you are multitasking heavily and running other programs on the side.

The windows 10 professional makes sure to run all applications and programs smoothly, combining the hard drive performance. You are not getting dedicated graphics in this laptop but considering the laptop price, the on-board graphics is decent.

Battery

With two cell – 39 Wh battery power, the V330 is expected to run at least more than half of your day. The real-life results of this laptop had the battery to last around 5 hours and 32 minutes with 150-nits of brightness. Without Wi-Fi turned on, you may be able to get more out of this laptop.

Verdict

Well, when we talk about the final overview statement of the Lenovo V330, we can assure that from the performance factor there is nothing to worry about. Apart from mediocre battery life, a dull screen and a not-so-fancy build, the other features are good enough.

We recommend it for business users who really need to find a business laptop in a minimal budget. However, if you are not on a limited budget, there are a lot of better business Lenovo laptops out there.
