Customers may be offered the opportunity to apply for credit on a website, if purchasing an eligible product and choosing to apply for an instalment offer using PayPal Credit. Otherwise they can apply directly via PayPal’s website.
Do some customers applications get declined?
If your customer asks about his/her application being declined, please don’t try to answer what could be the reasons for a decline. PayPal will send the customer an email with the explanation of the decline and contact details, should they have additional questions on the decision. If the decision was due to a customer’s credit history, we will note the credit reference agencies consulted when making the decision.
